SMT is one of the largest student-run math tournaments in the world. It features a Power Round (proof-based), a Team Round, and Individual Subject Tests (Algebra, Calculus, Discrete, and Geometry) or a General Test. The event also includes the fast-paced, live-scored Guts Round.

Requires a team of 5-6 students. Schools, organizations, and individuals may apply, though school-based teams are given preference in the lottery.
